If you are dining out and have a soup with shrimp in it, and the shrimp are not peeled, what do you do?

Do you eat the shrimp with the shell on them or do you pull them out of the soup and peel them with your hands?
Please, I don’t want to hear any comments about how I got this kind of soup. I am only interested in the etiquette of how to eat the shrimp.

My mother always told me that the best part of the shrimp is the shell so I just eat the whole thing.

Just kidding of course. Personally, I’d probably finish the soup then peel and eat the shrimp last.

Fish it out with your spoon and peel it. Or complain to the wait staff and either don’t eat there again or don’t order the soup again.

Shrimp should always be peeled if it’s in a soup. The restaurant was lax.

Use your fork and spoon to peel it, and make a comment to waiter, so that they will improve themselves as the shrimp is soup should be deveined and peeled :)
