alot of it depends on how big the family is. Sometimes my husband and me can eat out cheaper and sometimes we can cook it at home cheaper.

It is much cheaper to make dinner because although the prices may vary, you can cook and still have left overs for the next day. After eating out, theres no going back unless you take a doggy bag and most of the time, outside food doesn’t taste good the next day.

If you’re comparing meal to meal, home is cheaper. However, for one or two people, you can have waste at home if you have to buy in larger quantities. Besides you have to factor in the real cost of energy at home, to cook, clean up, refrigerate, etc. There’s two of us, we cook half the time at home, half out. Works for us. peace

Of course it is cheaper to eat at home. It isn’t hard to do the arithmetic on the cost of ingredients for a meal cooked at home compared with what you pay at a restaurant or fast food eatery for the same food. The most obvious example is what you pay for a few grams of french fries at McDonalds - you can buy 10lbs of potatoes for the same price where I live.

Home cooking is cheaper and more rewarding. Recently I have found that eating out is less enjoyable and the food doesn’t meet my expectations.

Preparing dinner at home is always less expensive, you do not have to pay taxes and you do not have to leave a tip. Besides that most of the time a home cooked dinner is better than any restaurant meal.
