I've started him on his phonics lessons, and he really likes that, but he gets bored easily.
There is no TV in his house (weird, I know.)
What else can I do with him that he may find fun and will benefit his development as well? Thanks in advance!
My son is one week away from being 6 months old.
I put down a blanket with several toys, get down there with him and play! He really likes toys that make music.
Take a toy and a blanket. Show him the toy and then play hide and seek by covering the toy up "where did it go?" or "all gone" and then reveal the toy "here it is!".
He also enjoys playing peek-a-boo… Covering baby's face or my own with blanket "Where's Mommy/Baby?" then "Here she is!/There you are!".
He likes to go outside for walks bigtime! I sit him up in his sling and walk the neighborhood. Stopping to show him trees/flowers/cats/dogs/sprinklers etc.
He loves his exersaucer.
He likes to swing.
He likes to play with our dogs.
He loves the water…. I'm not sure if his parents would want you bathing him, you may want to ask first.
Read him a book.
I NEVER let my baby watch TV so that's not weird to me at all.
Hope this helps!
Very best wishes!

Peek-a-boo is a great game that is very good for babies developmentally.
Classical music, books (reading stories to him), just having a conversation and rattlers are also really good right now.

Introducing him to different shapes and ojects, you will have to remember he will probably put this in his mouth as most 5month olds do, so make it something that has a lot of variation in shape and that makes a bit of noise. Each object can give him about 5-10mins of stimulation. Also trying to get him to walk at that age is great stimulation for his legs to strengthen up so holding him under the arms and pretending to walk will be great also, trying to amke him crawl if he doesnt already is a great help also, making him have to reach out and grab things makes him build his muscles more so put something just out of his reach.
