I’d like to be akin to Christopher Hitchens. I want to write essays that would get published in newspapers and magazines, and hopefully write books, too. How can I learn to write so well, and be so entertaining with the written word?
(1) Study grammar and composition.
(2) Study the subject of "critical thinking"
(3) Become knowledgeable (as opposed to opinionated) in the subjects that interest you.
(4) Maintain a blog that you work on EVERY day … no days off.
(5) Consider the words of your critics as carefully as those of your fans.
(6) Develop patience with people who do not appreciate or understand you.
(7) Think more about making the world a better place than getting famous.
