My husband and I are taking our 18 month old on a 16 hour road trip. We have two options, a) drive at night and hope she sleeps most of the way or b) drive during the day, try to keep her entertained and keep our fingers crossed. Now taking votes!
Also, how do I keep an 18 month old entertained for 16 hours?!?!?!?!
Thanks in advance for any tips and helpful advice
I always tryed to travel later at night so my daughter would sleep, but that doesnt always work either. Either way you choose to travel, make sure she has a few toys she can play with in the car and some snacks. I had a portable DVD player that usually kept my daughter pretty entertained as well. Oh, and be prepared to make many stops. Good luck!

We drive 5 hours with our son every other Sunday, and the thing that works the best for us is to get up really early in the morning and play with him until he almost passes out. Then, load up in the car and he sleeps the whole way.
But since you are driving 16 hours, I would recommend playing for a few hours before you leave (at night), then drive all night while she sleeps.
Good luck!
